Local singer/songwriter raising money for law enforcement
GREENFIELD, Ind. (WISH) – Local singer/songwriter, Craig B. Moore is using his talents to raise awareness and funds for fallen officers.
Moore is out of Hancock County and says his goal is to help the families of the fallen.
The idea came from within his own family. It took Moore just a few nights to write “Thin Blue Line.”
But he says he wants its effects to last a lifetime.
“I hope that this reaches a lot of people and helps provide some sort of comfort to them,” said Moore.
Moore, of Greenfield, has been married to his wife for 15 years. They have two children, and he’s been writing songs since the late 1990’s.
He’s now using his talents to help the families of law enforcement who’ve been killed in the line of duty.
“To provide the message that they’re our heroes, they’re out there to protect all of us day and night and they work hard to do that,” he said
The inspiration for “Thin Blue Line” came from a letter his brother-in-law wrote him. His brother-in-law is a Rush County Sheriff’s deputy.
“One page kind of an essay based on a fallen officers funeral and what goes through with all of that,” said Joshua Brinson, Moore’s brother-in-law.
He wrote the letter after five officers were killed in Dallas over the summer.
He then passed it along to Moore.
“It affects all of us that wears the uniform, but more importantly, it affects the families and that’s kind of how I looked at that,” said Brinson.
Moore has used his voice for good in the past, but his wife says this one hits homes.
“I hear as a mother and a spouse what I might feel if that were me,” said Misty Moore, Moore’s wife.

100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Indiana Chapter of C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors), the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department and the Rush County Sheriff’s Department.
Funds delivered to Hancock County Sheriff’s Department will go to provide protective vests for officers and the K-9 units.
Funds given to Rush County Sheriff’s Department will help purchase additional K-9s for the department.
Moore’s goal is to raise $10,000 for the organizations.
