Lucas Oil Stadium lockdown lifted
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Lucas Oil Stadium was placed on lockdown Tuesday afternoon after a suspicious vehicle was spotted nearby.
Dispatchers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said the situation arose just before noon.
The vehicle was spotted at the nearby United States Postal Service facility. According to a USPS spokesperson, the facility is currently undergoing repairs. There is no parking allowed near the construction area, which is where the vehicle that prompted the lockdown was.
IMPD’s Bomb Squad was called to the scene to assist.
Police say an individual was detained at the scene but details about that person weren’t immediately released by IMPD. The Postal Inspector will be handling the investigation.
The lockdown on Lucas Oil Stadium was lifted around 3 p.m.
