Luck survives ‘car wreck’ vs. Cincinnati, packs umbrella for D.C.
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The NFL welcomed Andrew Luck back in a big way. Over the last 48 hours Luck paid a big price for his full 60 minutes in over 600 days.
“I’ve never been in a serious car wreck before but I imagine I got a little bit of that feeling,” Luck said. “I was sore. I felt a couple of those hits. Otherwise, I felt like I came out fairly clean. I felt like I had juice left in my arm which I was excited about.”
This week Luck’s game plan includes updates on Hurricane Florence. Washout conditions are a possibility Sunday in Washington.
“I just always felt as a player that it’s not so bad,” Frank Reich said. “It is what you grow up in. You go out and play in the backyard, sometimes it is raining, it is windy. You just go out and play.”
“It is just one of those games when it is man on man,” Defensive Tackle Al Woods said. ” There is no running, no hiding. It’s no ‘Hey man, I am tired get me out’…they are going to find out if you are a man this week.”
Reich confirmed Wednesday the Colts and the NFL league office are discussing contingency plans if Hurricane Florence makes Sunday unplayable in Washington DC. but didn’t give any other specifics. Left Tackle Anthony Castonzo did lay out details on his injured hamstring. Castonzo plans to play against the Redskins no matter what conditions arrive Sunday.
“I’ll wear good cleats (laughs),” Castonzo said. “I can’t be thinking about it (weather) at all. Football is fast enough as it is. If you start thinking about other stuff, it gets a lot faster.”
Film on Washington and the weather channel. That’s all the Colts can watch this week.
