Man arrested after deadly weekend shooting
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police in Indianapolis say they’ve made an arrest in a shooting over the weekend that left a man dead.
On Saturday, officers responded to the 1700 block of North Ritter Avenue and found 34-year-old Michael Mason unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the face. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to IMPD, officers spoke with 36-year-old Thomas King at the scene. He told police he was robbed inside of his apartment by two people and that he shot one of them, while the second person fled.
After investigating, detectives learned that Mason and King would often drink alcohol together at the apartment. Officials say King shot Mason after an argument inside that apartment.
King was arrested and preliminarily charged with murder.
