Man critical, airlifted after Columbus crash involving school bus
COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) — A man was airlifted to the hospital after a Columbus crash involving a school bus Wednesday afternoon.
He is in critical condition at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Emergency crews were called to 10th Street and Marr Road around 2:15 p.m.
A car drove underneath the back of a bus waiting for the 10th Street light to change, witnesses told 24-Hour News 8 partner The Republic.
The bus, No. 166 on its way to Clifty Creek Elementary School, was empty at the time of the accident, police told The Republic, and the driver was not hurt.
The car driver, 50-year-old Donald Atwood of Columbus, was airlifted to the hospital.
