Man killed after being struck by vehicle on northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Officials are investigating following a fatal collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian Wednesday evening.

It happened just after 10:05 p.m. in the 2600 block of Westlane Road.

Early investigations determined a man in his 30s got out of his vehicle and began to cross the street when he was struck by an SUV head-on.

The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating. The victim was initially transported to the hospital in extremely critical condition, but later died. 

The crash is the second straight night where a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle in Marion County.
