Indiana Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center studies, treats rare disorders

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A rare disease is one that affects fewer than 200,000 Americans at any given time.

According to the Indiana Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center (IHTC), more than 300 million Americans around the world are living with one.

Dr. Magdalena Lewandowska, with the IHTC, was on Daybreak Sunday.

She discussed how the IHTC works with people who suffer from rare bleeding and blood disorders, barriers to preventing care and about overcoming those barriers.
