Midwest Truck to open Merrillville location
MERRILLVILLE, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – Chicago-based Midwest Truck & Auto Parts Inc. is expanding its operations with a new facility in Lake County. The company says it plans to create up to 150 jobs by the end of 2024.
Midwest Truck, which is a supplier of aftermarket automotive components, will occupy a 125,000-square-foot facility at the AmeriPlex at the Crossroads Business Park in Merrillville.
“With more than 70 years in the industry and 180 employees across the country, our company is looking to the future, advancing quality products and services, becoming more flexible to meet customer demand and expectations,” said Michael Chudacoff, business development manager at Midwest Truck. “As we explored options to better serve our customers, Indiana’s friendly business climate and Merrillville’s location resonated with us as the ideal place for our expanded operations.”
Midwest Truck says the new facility will allow the company to be more efficient and meet growing demand for its products. The company plans to be fully operational in Indiana in 2021.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered Midwest Truck up to $1.5 million in conditional tax credits, which the company will not be eligible to claim until Hoosier workers are hired for the new jobs. The town of Merrillville is considering additional incentives.
The company also has locations in California, Georgia, Illinois, North Carolina and Texas.
