‘Mighty Ducks’ actor Shaun Weiss arrested; fans shocked over mug shot
SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) – The actor who played Goldberg the goalie in “The Mighty Ducks” was arrested over the weekend for public intoxication in Oroville.
Shaun Weiss was arrested around 1 a.m., but police released him without a citation after he spent a few hours in the drunk tank, according to the Oroville Police Department.
In a Facebook post, the Oroville Police Department said Weiss was arrested on suspicion of “intoxication only” and “no further criminal proceedings are desired at this time.”
It was Weiss’ mugshot that caught the attention of many people on social media.
“Oh how the mighty have fallen,” another commented. “This is terrible,” one person tweeted.
Of all the depressing mugshots in the world, this one hit me the hardest,” another person said.
“Seeing pictures of Shaun Weiss are really sad. I grew up loving The Mighty Ducks and even to this day my friends and I make Goldberg references. I hope he gets the support and help he needs,” another said.
This isn’t the 38-year-old’s first run-in with the law.
Last year, he served time for theft and drug possession in two separate cases.
In 2017, he was arrested for stealing $151-worth of products from an electronics store and was sentenced to 150 days in jail, although he ended up serving only 12 days of that sentence due to overcrowding.
Five days after his release, he was arrested for possession of suspect methamphetamine.
