Mom charged for not treating young son’s head lice
MARION, NC (WSPA) – A mom in North Carolina was arrested after deputies say she knew her young son had a headful of lice, but didn’t treat it.
The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Michelle Lee Cox, 30, with contributing to the delinquency or neglect of a child.
She was also served outstanding warrants for misdemeanor larceny and driving while license revoked.
Investigators say her son is eight years old. McDowell County deputies say they began to investigate Cox after getting a tip about possible neglect in the home.
A detective says Cox knew her son had a head full of lice, but didn’t treat it.
