Monster Energy Supercross set to get underway at Lucas Oil Stadium

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The 2019 Monster Energy Supercross at Lucas Oil Stadium is set and ready for racers Saturday. The stadium is filled with tons of dirt and the track has been groomed for the riders and the mid-season race.

The race happens inside Lucas Oil Stadium where the turf is traded for dirt. It’s about 500 truckloads or 26 million pounds of dirt built in about three days. These races attract nearly 1 million fans in attendance over the course of the series.

The 2019 season has featured elite athletes chasing their supercross dreams onto U.S. soil, inside America’s most well-known stadiums. They’ve traveled all over the country and the series is a little more than halfway through the season. There are about 22 racers on the track at one time.

The outdoor Supercross FanFest, a chance for fans to see riders, teams and their bikes up close,  is from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Fans need to purchase a Supercross FanFest Pass for $10 through Ticketmaster.com or the box office, along with their event ticket for entry. Tickets online are $10 and are still available.
