Mother asks community to send cards to son with Cerebral Palsy
DANVILLE, Va. (WISH) — A Virginia mother wants to make her son’s upcoming birthday extra special, so the mother decided to ask her community to send her son a birthday card.
The soon to be 16-year-old has cerebral palsy. His mother, Tambra Malone says her son is just like any other kid.
“He likes to listen to music, especially gospel music. And he also likes Sam Smith. “
She also says in many more ways he’s different.
“He has cerebral palsy and restrictions of some muscles. And he also has epilepsy.”
Caring for Tate is a full time job for his mom. Even more so in the past four years, since Tate’s dad was diagnosed with a brain condition that left him needing care as well.
Tambra says it is a 24-hour job. But she wouldn’t trade it.
“When we are out, people are looking and staring. And it doesn’t bother me. He’s mine and I know he’s a child of God so I shouldn’t be ashamed of him.”
Now, Tate’s mother is asking for people to send her son birthday cards to show love and support of people who care for him.
Tate’s 16th birthday is Sunday, August 30. You can mail a birthday card for Tate to: 233 Meadowbrook Lane, Danville Virginia 24540.
