Must See: Woman stranded after flood waters destroy road
MOORE COUNTY, Tenn. — Near-record rainfall for February in combination with another strong system on Saturday in Middle Tennessee has led to dangerous flash flooding and rising river levels.
Heavy rain across the area has prompted numerous water rescues as crews quickly work to close roadways. In some cases, rising water has destroyed roads entirely.
No injuries have been reported in Moore County, roughly 75 miles south of Nashville, following multiple water rescues and a road collapse.
WKRN’s Chris Bundgaard spoke to a woman stranded after the road in front of her home washed away. You can watch their exchange above.
An official in the area estimated more than two dozen roads were closed due to flooding. There were also reports of trees down with debris in roadways.
