NASA: First all-female spacewalk delayed because suits don’t fit

(CNN) — A NASA spacewalk set to make history this week won’t happen after all — at least not yet.

It’s because the spacesuits don’t fit the astronauts.

Anne McClain and Christina Koch were set to perform the first all-female spacewalk this Friday.

But NASA says it only has one spacesuit in a size medium available at the International Space Station.

So Nick Hague will now take McClain’s place.

Hague and McClain conducted the first of three spacewalks for this year last week.

The astronauts are working on replacing the station’s lithium-ion batteries.

McClain is tentatively scheduled to perform the third spacewalk on April 8 with a Canadian space agency astronaut.
