Chicago under stay-at-home order beginning Monday morning

CHICAGO (WISH) — Chicago residents will be under stay-at-home orders beginning Monday morning.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot made the announcement Thursday afternoon.

The order begins November 16 at 6 a.m.

A tweet by Lightfoot calls for the following:

Stay home unless for essential reasons
Stop having guests over—including family members you do not live with
Avoid non-essential travel
Cancel traditional Thanksgiving plans

We have to recommit to the fundamentals that got us past the first surge.

Wear your mask when you leave your home.
Socially distance.
And wash your hands frequently.

.@ChiPublicHealth will be deploying approximately 2,000 City workers, including up to 550 contact tracers, and a network of hundreds of community-based organizations to reach at least half of all Chicago households.
