INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Broccoli may reign as the supreme veggie in 39 states, according to a new survey, but not in Indiana.
Here, it’s corn.
About 5,000 American consumers ages 13 to 73 were asked to name their favorite vegetable. Green Giant conducted the survey for the second year in a row in advance of National Eat Your Vegetables Day, which is Monday.
Some other findings:
- Cauliflower (Montana) and asparagus (Alaska) appeared on the map this year as state favorites for the first time.
- Only one state voted the potato as its favorite vegetable in 2019: Arkansas. Five chose it in 2018.
- Cucumber is noticeably absent from the list this year. Last year, it was the favorite of New Mexico and Louisiana.
The survey was done from April 26-May 10 through a Suzy poll.
