Plans for Monopoly movie ‘pass go’
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Movie studio Lionsgate and toy maker Hasbro are moving forward with plans for a movie about the board game – monopoly.
Variety reports that the film will focus on a boy from Baltic Avenue – who goes on a quest to make a fortune.
Hasbro has been attempting to launch a Monopoly movie since 2009. A version in 2013 never made it past the development stage.
According to the Hasbro, the beloved game has been played more than 1 billion times in over 100 countries.
No word yet on any casting decision or release date for the new movie.
