Police: Man kills daughter’s boyfriend, believes he sold her to sex trafficking organization

SPOKANE, Wash. (WISH) — Police say a man has been arrested after he was accused of killing a man he believed sold his underage daughter to a sex trafficking ring.

The Spokane Police Department in Washington has arrested 60-year-old John Eisenman in the case. He faces preliminary charges of first degree murder.

According to KXLY, the victim is 19-year-old Andrew Sorensen.

Spokane police say they were called to investigate an abandoned vehicle with a foul odor coming from it. Police found a body in the trunk. Investigators believe the body had been in the trunk for nearly a year.

According to investigators, Eisenman learned in October 2020 that his daughter had been sold to a sex trafficking organization in the Seattle area. Eisenman was able to rescue his daughter and bring her back to Spokane.

Police say Eisenman believed Sorensen was responsible. According to KIRO, Eisenman learned she was sold to the organization for $1,000.

Police say Eisenman located Sorensen in Airway Heights, west of Spokane, in November 2020. Police say Eisenman abducted him, tied him up and placed him in the trunk of a vehicle. Police say Eisenman hit him in the head with a cinder block and stabbed him, leading to his death.

The vehicle was abandoned in a remote area in North Spokane Valley and was left there until October 2021 when a third-party moved the vehicle to Spokane. Police say the third-party was unaware that the vehicle had a body in the trunk.

Police say Eisenman doesn’t have a violent criminal history or a recent criminal history.

Online jail records show he is being held on a $1 million bond.
