Police: Mom rams ex’s car while children are with her

AUSTIN, Texas (KXAN) — A mom is in jail after police say she tried to ram her ex-boyfriend off the road in north Austin Friday night while her children were in the car, according to an arrest affidavit.

Erika Paiz’s ex called police to say that she became agitated during a custody exchange at her residence in the 13800 block of Harrisglenn Drive west of Dessau Road and north of East Howard Lane.

The affidavit said a cell phone video shows her lunging at her ex with a pair of scissors before he grabbed one of the children and left.

Paiz followed with the other two children in her car.

The victim told police that Paiz slammed into his car several times at 45 miles per hour on Parmer Lane.

Paiz is charged with Child Endangerment, a State Jail Felony. She was still in the Travis County Jail Sunday on a $90,000 bond.
