Nearly 2,900 without power in Johnson County, including several schools
JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Several people are currently experiencing power outages in Johnson County.
According to Duke Energy, almost 2,900 people have been affected. The company says that a squirrel caused damage at their Whiteland substation, resulting in the outage.
The company says they first learned of the outages at approximately 9:45 a.m.
The outage has also affected a number of schools in the county. As a result, Clark-Pleasant School Corporation has said the following schools are being released at 11:45 a.m. due to the power outage:
- Break-O-Day Elementary
- Sawmill Woods Preschool
Duke Energy is reporting that power will be restored at 11:45 a.m.
