New online guide helps Indy residents plant safely

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Getting water in and out of our homes and city requires a delicate balance. One local agency wants people at home to know some yard plants are making this job really difficult.

Julie Rhodes, collective impact director with Reconnecting to Our Waterways, and Emily Wood, executive director of Indiana Wildlife Federation, stopped by Daybreak studios to talk about the issue and how to identify unfriendly plants.

They spoke about an online guide built to help Indianapolis residents remove harmful, invasive plant species from their own backyards.
