Nurses unite after ‘The View’ mocks Miss Colorado’s monologue

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – On Sunday Miss America was crowned and even though Miss Colorado, Kelley Johnson didn’t win she was still the talk of social media.

During the Miss America Pageant Johnson performed an original monologue about her work as a nurse for patients with Alzheimer’s. Her story about a patient who changed her life stole the show.

However, on the show “The View” the hosts seemed to mock her speech.

Host Michelle Collins said Johnson “came in a nurse’s uniform. and did not win,” jokingly. Co-host, Joy Behar also chimed in asking why she was wearing a stethoscope.

Thousands of people went to Twitter and voiced their opinion on the hosts remarks using #NursesUnite.

The View’s Facebook also has several comments about the host’s remarks. The View responded to the criticism on Wednesday.
