NWS: 2 tornadoes in Beech Grove among 8 confirmed in Indiana
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The National Weather Service has confirmed eight tornadoes as part of Saturday’s severe weather across Indiana.
Confirmed tornadoes and their preliminary classifications:
- Beech Grove, Marion County: EF1
- Beech Grove, Marion County: EF0
- Freedom and Spencer area, Owen County: EF1
- Bloomfield area, Greene County: EF2
- Ellettsville area, Monroe County: EF2
- Northern Union County: EF unknown
- Bentonville, Fayette County: EF unknown
- Richmond, Wayne County: EF unknown
On Sunday afternoon, the NWS office in Wilmington, Ohio, confirmed a tornado occurred at the Richmond Mall in Wayne County. The NWS said the tornado was listed as EF unknown crews continued to survey the damage.

Around 7:30 p.m. the Wilmington office confirmed tornadoes caused damage in Bentonville in Fayette County and in northern Union County.
The Indianapolis office of the NWS tweeted on Sunday confirming a tornado in Beech Grove:
***PRELIMINARY SURVEY INFORMATION*** Our survey team in the Beech Grove area has made a PRELIMINARY determination of a #tornado in that area with a width of 200 yards and estimated wind speeds of 100 MPH, producing EF-1 damage. #INwx

Officials early Sunday morning said three other tornadoes touched down in Owen County near Freedom, near Ellettsville in Monroe County and in Rushville in Rush County.
On Sunday afternoon, officials with the NWS said the activity in Rush County was not confirmed but crews planed to survey the damage on Sunday afternoon or Monday.
The NWS confirmed the tornadoes in Owen and Monroe counties in a Sunday afternoon tweet, adding a tornado in Greene County:
***PRELIMINARY*** Survey teams have identified 3 additional tornadoes, 1 each in Owen (Freedom-Spencer area), Greene (east of Bloomfield), and Monroe (Ellettsville area) counties. Owen is a prelim EF1, Greene and Monroe are prelim EF2. Additional survey work likely Monday. #INwx

Beech Grove mayor holds press conference following EF1 tornado
It is possible more tornadoes touched down across the state, however officials are working to confirm those touchdowns.

Investigators will travel to Bartholomew County near Columbus, parts of Decatur County and Brown County near Stone Head. They will assess the damage in these areas to confirm whether tornadoes did touch down.
