Official: 1 killed in Danville accident involving tractor
DANVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – A coroner was called to the scene of an accident in Hendricks County Monday morning.
According to Hendricks County Sheriff dispatch, emergency personnel were on State Road 39, near US 36 in Danville.
The accident reportedly involved a tractor, officials said, and happened around 9:18 a.m. A spokesman for the Danville Fire Department confirmed one fatality at the scene.
Officials say that they found 71-year-old Clarence Imhausen Jr. underneath the tractor. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The tractor was running and for an unknown reason jumped forward through an exterior wall of a parking structure, officials say. Imhausen was found underneath the tractor and his wife called for help.
No other injuries were reported.
The cause of the accident was still under investigation on Monday afternoon.
