Officials seek help in locating man who broke into home, got into bed of 10-year-old girl

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in tracking down a man they said broke into a home and jumped into the bed of a 10-year-old girl.

Police were called to the 4800 block of East New York Street, near Emerson Avenue, after a woman reported seeing an unknown man in her granddaughter’s bed. 

The suspect is described as being a 30-year-old man standing 5 feet and 10 inches and weighing around 210 pounds. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a white t-shirt, orange stocking cap and gray Jordan shoes. 

He fled the scene before officials arrived. 

Police released surveillance of the suspect where he appears to be peering into the bedroom of the home. The suspect also walks and parks what appears to be a bicycle in between two homes. He is seen walking back and forth between the bike and the window, and places his hands on the window at one point. 

The investigation remains ongoing.
