Officials: Suspects stole TVs, crashed car during chase

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — A police chase following a a theft report from a Columbus area Wal-Mart led to the arrests of two Wednesday afternoon.

Officers attempted to stop the suspects, after Wal-Mart staff members told police they saw a man take televisions from the store and run to a car, according to a news release from Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department.

The suspects refused to stop and led police on a brief chase. Officials said the chase ended when the driver of the vehicle lost control and crossed the median. The van struck a fence and spun to a stop.

One suspect, Christopher Yarber, was stun-gunned after resisting arrest. The 30-year-old Jackson Township man was arrested for possession of stolen property and resisting arrest, among other charges.

The driver of the car, 30-year-old Megann King, of Columbus, was charged with resisting arrest and possession of stolen property.
