Officials warn of new Facebook scam

NEW HAVEN, CT (WTNH) — There’s a new warning if you’re on Facebook.

Scammers are promising you big bucks but then duping you out of cash instead. Here’s how they’re doing it.

Officials say the scammers claim you won money, and the F.B.I. knows about it. They then say FedEx will ship your check and you just have to pay them a couple hundred bucks.

Officials say this is all a scam.

FedEx says it does not send unsolicited messages or emails to customers requesting money.

If you get a message like this, don’t answer. Instead just delete it.
