One killed in late night shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – One person was killed in a shooting just before midnight Friday evening.

The deadly incident occurred in the 4700 block of Crestview Avenue.

According to police, they initially received a call about “popping” noises coming from inside a vehicle.

After arriving on scene, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Officers discovered a male in a SUV who was suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim was later pronounced dead.

Police are continuing to investigate.  However, they do not believe this was a random incident.
