One more damp day before sunshine returns

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Prepare for more rain and cooler temperatures to start the weekend. 

Friday night: 
Skies will be overcast as temperatures fall to the low 50s. We can’t rule a few isolated showers mainly south. Grab the heavier jacket or a coat if you have evening plans. 

Saturday: 
Showers will develop in the morning. Expect light rain for the Indianapolis 500 Festival Mini-Marathon. Scattered showers will continue on and off throughout the day. Cooler-than-average conditions are expected in the afternoon as high temperatures only warm to the low 60s. We will finally dry out in the evening as temperatures fall to the 40s. Clouds will decrease making way for partly cloudy skies overnight.

Sunday:
Enjoy the best weather day of the week. Skies will become mostly sunny, the air will remain dry and much warmer temperatures are expected. We will be back in the 70s in the afternoon as the gradual warming trend continues. 

Monday:
A mix of sun and clouds as temperatures warm to the upper 70s. Expect breezy conditions with increasing clouds at night. High 76.

8-Day forecast:
The warming trend will continue into Tuesday. Showers will return to the forecast late Tuesday morning. We’ll keep the chance of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast as we head into next weekend.The temperature trend will remain mild for much of the extended forecast.
