One more day of storms; dry weekend for most

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Another dose of showers and storms for many across central Indiana, Friday.

Tonight:
Continued chances for rain heading into both the evening and overnight hours, thanks to an upper-level wave pushing through the state.  As a result, scattered storm chances will be around through early Friday morning.

Overnight lows fall to the upper 60s and lower 70s.

Friday:

Similar setup to Thursday.  A mainly gray day, with scattered showers and storms at any point during the day.

A marginal risk for severe storms for much of central Indiana, Friday.  Damaging straight line winds will be the biggest threat.

Certainly not a washout for week 1 of high school football, but grab the umbrella before heading out.  Showers with a few storms will be possible well into the evening.

Rain chances should start to wind down after Midnight.  Lows fall to the middle 60s.

Weekend:

The cold front responsible for the active pattern toward the end of this work week will have moved southeast of the area starting Saturday.  With the exception of a few isolated storms early Saturday in our southern counties, most of central Indiana should be dry both weekend days.  Highs top out in the middle 80s.

8-day forecast:

Rain returns on Monday, with a decent shot at widespread showers and storms in the afternoon and evening.  Just lingering showers for Tuesday morning and early afternoon.  Drier pattern setting up for the second half of the work week.
