Our last warm day before rain, cooler temperatures move in

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Our last run at 80° rolls in today. Rain and much cooler temperatures slide into the area on Monday.

Today:

Dry start to the morning with mainly clear conditions. Some clouds will build heading into the afternoon hours, but we should be relatively quiet for the daytime hours. Highs top out in the upper 70s and lower 80s.

Tonight:

Approaching cold front will bring showers to the area overnight, starting in the northwest, and expanding to the rest of the state as we approach daybreak.

Temperatures should hold in the middle 60s through much of the overnight.

Monday:

Widespread showers continue for the morning hours. We should see the rain shut down from west to east heading into the afternoon.

Total rainfall amounts will be light – with most areas picking up less than 0.25″

Temperatures will slide into the lower 60s for the afternoon.

8 day forecast:

Colder air settles in for the rest of the week with minimal rain chances. A secondary cold front moves in on Thursday, bringing a reinforcing shot of chilly air for Friday into the weekend. Highs by the end of the extended will be lucky to get out of the 50s. Saturday morning lows should be in the 30s in spots, which would make frosty conditions across portions of the area.
