Parkview Field to extend protective netting
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – Fort Wayne’s Redevelopment Commission Monday has given The TinCaps the green light to expand the protective netting at Parkview Field in Allen County. Plans call for increased protection for all seating areas in foul territory at the baseball diamond.
Currently, the netting covers fans in sections 103-113. The expanded coverage will now include the Toyota Field Boxes, sections 101, 102, 114, and most of the Huntington University Picnic Pavilion, according to officials. The project will be the first time since 2016 that the nettings have been expanded.
“This is something we’ve been researching and planning for months,” TinCaps President Mike Nutter said. “By further expanding the netting at Parkview Field, we’ll increase the area of protection for fans at the ballpark. Fan experience is our number one priority. Keeping people safe while they enjoy a TinCaps game should always be a part of that experience.”
Opening Day 2020 at Parkview Field is slated for April 13.
