Pastor gives message to criminal who broke into church

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A church on the city’s south side is cleaning up after someone broke in early Monday morning.

It happened at the East Street Apostolic Church, 1909 S. East St. That’s northwest of Madison Avenue and East Raymond Street.

The church’s pastor said someone threw a rock into a glass door and stole a television used during services.

The alarm eventually went off, and the thief ran out.

Daniel Parnell, senior pastor at the church, had a message for that criminal: “Regardless of what they have done, I hope they know that the church here still loves them. This is a church that is affirming of all people and, even though they may have hurt us a little bit through doing this, this church still stands as a place of welcome and of love for all people.”

Anyone with information about the burglary can call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
