Patchy fog this Friday morning will be our only weather problem for the next four days

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Happy Friday, everyone! Make sure to grab a jacket before you head out the door because we’ll start the morning in the mid to upper 40s in most areas. Patchy fog could be an issue for some, so give yourself a few extra minutes if you live in a fog prone area.

With mostly sunny skies and a west wind, temperatures will climb quickly into the mid 70s this afternoon, just about par for this time of year.

If you’re headed to high school football tonight, you might need a light sweatshirt or jacket with cool temps, otherwise enjoy the beautiful evening.

We’ll slowly sink back down into the mid to upper 40s by daybreak Saturday under mostly clear skies.

A few clouds will build in through the first half of the weekend which will help to keep high temps a bit cooler for Saturday. Outside of that, we will not see any weather issues to start the weekend.

High temperatures Saturday look to top out in the upper 60s in most areas, low 70s to the south.

Homecoming looks to be ideal Saturday evening for the Greyhounds as they host Lincoln. Go Hounds!

A few more clouds will try to push south on Sunday as a storm system skirts us to the north.

The good news is, outside of a few clouds, the rain will stay out of our area so the roof will likely be open as the Colts host the Texans this Sunday.

High temps will rebound through the second half of the weekend with highs in the upper 70s. That trend will continue into next week with 80s set to return Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Our next best chance for rain will move in Tuesday.

Behind that, a more potent cold front looks to slide in by Thursday of next week, bringing a good chance for storms to close out next work week and a big cool down for the first weekend of October.
