Pedestrian struck, killed after carjacking on the west side
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A pedestrian was struck and killed after a carjacking on Thursday night.
Police were called to the intersection of West Washington Street and South Holt Road around 5:20 p.m.
Police say a woman left her car running when she went into a restaurant.
The suspect hopped into the car and backed into a male pedestrian.
The man was taken to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital where he would later pass away from his injuries. His name has not been released.
IMPD officers on routine patrol found the suspected hit-and-run vehicle around 11 p.m. Thursday in the 5600 block of Georgetown Road. Two people inside were taken into custody. They have not been identified.
