Pleasant Saturday with storms possible Sunday
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Half and half weekend on tap as storms return to the forecast Sunday.
Today:
Quiet weather to open up the weekend. Expect a mix of sun and clouds, with clouds increasing later in the afternoon. Highs top out in the lower 60s.
Tonight:
Strong upper level system ejects from the southern Plains and into the Midwest. We’ll start to see scattered rain showers filling in across the area late tonight, and continue well into the overnight hours. A few rumbles of thunder will be possible as well.
Lows fall to the middle 40s.
Sunday:
System continues to push through the Midwest. A quick line of strong storms could be possible in the early to mid morning hours. Much of the area under a marginal risk for severe storms, with a slight risk for severe storms for southeastern Indiana. Main concern will be large hail.
Potential for heavy rainfall is also possible, with some areas picking up between 1″-2″ of rainfall.
Showers hang around, although much more scattered for the late morning and afternoon.
A widespread of high temperatures across the area, with 60s to the southeast, and upper 40s to the northwest.
8 day forecast:
Quiet but cooler open to the work week. Temperatures will quickly warm back to the 70s starting Tuesday, and we should hold with a quiet pattern until late week, with rain chances moving in Thursday and Friday.
