Police: $38k in cash, cigarettes, alcohol stolen from convenience store

LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – A LaGrange County convenience store was reportedly burglarized late Monday or early Tuesday and nearly $40,000 in goods and cash were stolen.

LaGrange County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the State Line Convenience store at 010 W. 815 N. on a report of a burglary. At some point late Monday or early Tuesday, police said the glass of the front door of store was broken out and the business was burglarized.

Police said in a report that “large amount” of cigarette cartons, cash, beer and wine were stolen. Investigators noted in the report that the store reported a loss of approximately $38,000 in the burglary.
