Police again come to rescue of raccoon with jar on its head

DANVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — The local police may need to form a raccoon rescue.

For the second time since June, Danville Metropolitan Police Department came to the rescue Monday night of the small, nocturnal animal with its black and white face stuck in a food receptacle.

On a Facebook post with video of the latest rescue, Officer Josh Gauger tracked down a raccoon with what appeared to be a canning jar on its head.

Back in June, a peanut butter jar covered the raccoon’s mug.

“If it wasn’t caught on video, you probably wouldn’t believe it happened….AGAIN!” the Facebook post said.

“Now, it appears that someone has been canning something delicious, and (possibly) the same raccoon didn’t learn his lesson the last time. There’s never a dull moment in this profession… ???????”
