Police arrest man after 12 people overdose, 1 death in Jennings Co.

JENNINGS COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Police have arrested a man in connection with multiple people overdosing on heroin in Jennings Co. Tuesday.

Police have arrested Michael Purvis, 34. He faces multiple counts of dealing in a controlled substance.

The overdoses happened within a couple hours of each other on Tuesday night.

According to the Jennings County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to 12 heroin overdoses between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.

One person has died. Narcan was administered in all overdose situations.
