MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) – Police report a woman involved in a domestic dispute in her car ended up being arrested for Operating While Intoxicated.
Indiana State Police were called to a possible domestic dispute around 11 p.m. on Saturday to the 100 block of East 9th Street in Muncie, where they found a woman and three teenage passengers in an SUV.
Police say that an investigation revealed the female driver, Andrea Hughes, 36, of Muncie, was arguing with her boyfriend, who had left the vehicle moments before.
Upon further investigation, police found Hughes was operating the car while intoxicated with the three teens riding in the back seat.
After taking Hughes to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, police found she had a blood alcohol level at more than one-and-a-half times the legal limit.
Police say Hughes was then taken to the Delaware County Jail shortly thereafter, where she faces possible charges of three counts of operating while intoxicated with passengers less than 18 years of age, a Level 6 felony, and one count of operating while intoxicated, a C Class misdemeanor.
