Police: Fleeing suspect died of natural causes
COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) — An Edinburgh man fleeing from deputies collapsed and died of natural causes, Indiana State Police said Thursday.
Robert Quick, 44, jumped out of a vehicle and swam across the Driftwood River while being chased by Bartholomew County deputies Monday, according to ISP. After pulling himself out of the river, he collapsed and was later pronounced dead at the hospital, ISP said.
An autopsy was conducted and the pathologist ruled no foul play was involved.
Quick was wanted on multiple warrants out of Johnson and Bartholomew counties.
Toxicology results that will determine an exact cause of death are pending.
