Police investigate homicide after body found in Beech Grove area

BEECH GROVE, Ind. (WISH) — Indiana State Police said Wednesday they are investigating a homicide after a body was found Tuesday somewhere in the Beech Grove area.

Jeremy S. Cain, 33, of Indianapolis, was last seen in late August, according to a news release from police. On Sept. 3, a family member contacted state police that say Cain was missing.

“A missing persons report was filed and a subsequent investigation into the whereabouts of Mr. Cain began. As investigators followed several leads the suspicion of foul play grew,” the release said.

The remains were turned over to the Marion County Coroner’s Office.

The release did not say exactly where Cain was found, and police said they are releasing no additional information as they continue to investigate.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
