Police investigate murder-suicide at west side apartments

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police are investigating a murder-suicide on the city’s west side. 

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 6300 block of Moroso Court in the Darby Court Apartments, near West 21st Street and Interstate 465, around 8:25 p.m. on a possible person deceased. 

IMPD Capt. Arnett at the scene confirmed that two adults were found dead around 8:30 p.m., and that police were treating the incident as a murder-suicide. She also said a gun was involved. 

Family later confirmed the identities as 63-year-old John Mark Miller and 66-year-old Linda Miller, a couple married 35 years. 

Two brothers of John Mark Miller, who went by Mark, said he loved his wife. They spoke with him just Sunday and did not detect anything was wrong.

They told News 8 their brother had worked at Wayne Township Schools. The Miller family said the couple both had health issues, and there was an issue with an eviction. 

No information about a possible motive was provided on Monday night, per IMPD.
