Police search for suspect after teen attacked and burned

COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) – Columbus Police say they’re looking for two people who assaulted a 13-year-old boy.

The boy told police he was heckled by two people in a restaurant he walked by on 25th Street near Columbus North High School about 6:45 p.m. Tuesday.

According to the Columbus Republic, the two hecklers then got into a car and followed the boy to a nearby park.

Police say the teen victim was knocked to the ground and burned with a cigarette.  The two suspects then pressed the boy’s knee against the hot muffler of their car.

Detectives say the two suspects appeared to be older than high school age. One of them was described as a white man with brown hair, brown eyes and a mole on his left cheek. That person was described as wearing camouflage pants and a red shirt, he said.

There is no description for the second suspect.
