Police searching for hit-and-run suspect who struck 13-year-old

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department is looking for a hit-and-run suspect.

Police said two boys were riding their bicycle Tuesday, when a “gold-colored, four-door, Honda-style vehicle” struck one of the boys. The boy who was struck is 13 years old.

The boy who was not struck told police the vehicle was traveling southbound on South Aspen Road, then turned westbound onto Brush Creek and struck his friends bicycle.

The father of the boy who was not struck, told police he was following the two home when he saw the vehicle heading westbound on Bush Creek, but he said he did not see the accident.

The injured boy was taken to a nearby hospital. There is no word on his injury, but police said he received only scrapes and scratches and a cut by his ear.

Police said the 13-year-old said the suspect’s vehicle was a four-door car.

Police have not found the vehicle or the suspect.
