Police: Woman kills ex-boyfriend after door kicked in

SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) – Police say an intruder was shot and killed in Speedway early Wednesday morning.

It happened at an apartment complex in the 5800 block of West 25th Street around 4:15 a.m. This is east of North High School Road.

According to officials with the Speedway Police Department, a female caller told 911 dispatchers that her ex-boyfriend was forcing his way in. Police say the woman shot him after he kicked in the door.

Officials at the scene say two children were inside at the time of the shooting. They were not hurt and are with family.

Speedway police say they have responded to previous domestic calls at the apartment. Officials said Wednesday morning they didn’t immediately see any protective orders on file.

The shooting is under investigation.
