Rain and storms overnight, quiet weather Friday
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Our active pattern continues with rounds of showers and storms overnight into Thursday.
Tonight:
Another, more significant wave slides in overnight. Again, this has the potential for strong winds and hail. Much of the area is under a slight risk for severe storms.
Overnight lows fall to the middle 60s.
Thursday:
Steady showers with a few rumbles of thunder will likely be around many areas for the morning commute. Expect rain chances to continue on and off throughout the day.
Highs will cooler – only hitting the middle 70s.
Friday:
Our busy pattern briefly breaks as we end the work week. Look for sunshine and lower humidity across the area. Highs top out in the lower 80s.
Weekend:
Half and half weekend, with a weak system moving through the state from the northwest Saturday, expect scattered showers and storms across the area. Sunday looks dry and comfortable, with highs in the middle 70s.
8 day forecast:
A nice break from this active stretch heading into next week. Most models keep things mostly dry for the first few days of the week. There may be some exceptions with a few isolated rain chances late Tuesday into Wednesday. With northwest flow in place for the first half of the week, temperatures will be cooler, and humidity should be lower.
