Reggie Wayne speaks out; says he still wants to play

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — One month ago, the Colts told Reggie Wayne he was done with the team after 14 seasons wearing the Horseshoe.

He hasn’t spoken publicly since, but 24-Hour News 8 caught up with him at Hinkle Fieldhouse where he was a celebrity judge of the college slam dunk contest. The question many want to know is, is he upset at the team?

“What are you going to do?,” said Wayne. “You just got to move ahead and play your cards. I’m not much of a poker player, but I got to play the hand I’m dealt, I can’t fold. I still want to play, I’m going to play somewhere, we’ll see what happens. I’m not upset, everybody goes through this whether it’s 14 years or four years. That’s the way it goes, definitely no hard feelings, they brought me here when I had nothing, I enjoyed every bit of it, and I just got to keep going.”

As for his future? Reggie says he’s not done.

“I feel better now than I felt last year. I think I have at least one year left in me minimum, and I’m going to do it.”
