INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Former U.S. Sen. Birch Bayh passed away at the age of 91.
A memorial will be held in Maryland Friday for the former senator.
His legacy includes two constitutional amendments – the 25th on presidential succession and the 26th, which lowered the voting age to 18.
He is also considered a driving force behind Title IX, which mandates equal rights for women in public education and athletics.
Allison Barber, Fever president, stopped by Daybreak to talk about Bayh’s legacy on Friday.
