Report: Payless ShoeSource to close its stores

(WKBN/WISH) — Payless ShoeSource will be closing all of its U.S. stores, according to a report by business news organization Reuters.

Reuters said the company will file for bankruptcy later this month — the second time in two years — and close all 2,300 locations.

Payless has more than a dozen stores in central Indiana, according to its online store locator. Those locations include Avon Commons, Castleton Square, Circle Centre, College Park Plaza Shopping Center, Greenwood Park Mall, Hamilton Town Center in Noblesville, Southport Commons, Sunny Side Shoppes, Village Park Plaza in Westfield and Washington Corner.

The report said the company is preparing to sell off all of its inventory.
